It has begun.

Maybe it’s his newfound mobility. Maybe it’s just a personality trait. Or maybe it’s just normal for an almost 15 month old.
Yes, that’s right, tantrums.
Avery is not the type of kid to hang back and watch anything happen. He is rarely afraid of things and prefers to be directly involved in anything that may be happening at the time. And when he doesn’t get his way, he throws a fit. He pulls out all the stops. He thrashes and tries to bite stuff, and flails and kicks his legs. We mostly just stand back and make sure he doesn’t hurt himself, because he’s known to fling his head or whole body back without regard to where he may land. You can easily tell the “whining, I’m not getting my way” cry from the “something is really wrong” cry. There’s a fool-proof way to check too: offer him a blueberry.
Luckily, while he’s become more whiny as he is forming opinions about things, he’s generally a pretty happy guy. I think some new teeth are moving in right now which has increased his irritability recently. Still, I thought this kind of all-out tantrums didn’t start until the “terrible twos”, but apparently I was wrong. Personally, if this is 15 months, how terrible are the twos going to be?
